In addition to the BMBC scholarship, we've compiled a list of external resources to help you identify local colleges that offer free tuition assistance and additional scholarships.

 Scholarship Resources

  • Big Future by College Board:Offers a comprehensive scholarship search tool with over 6,000 programs, totaling more than $4 billion in scholarship funds annually. 
  • Scholarships.com: Provides a free platform that matches students to scholarships they qualify for, along with resources like a Scholarship Deadline Calendar for 2024-2025. 
  • Fastweb:Features a database of over 1.5 million scholarships worth more than $3.4 billion, along with college planning resources and financial aid information. 
  • Scholarships360:Provides a curated list of scholarships for college students, including no-essay and merit-based scholarships. 
  • Niche: Offers a variety of scholarships, including the $25,000 "Be Bold" No Essay Scholarship, with rolling monthly application deadlines. 

Illinois Free Tuition Schools

Several top Illinois institutions offer programs that provide free tuition to eligible in-state students:

  1. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC):Through the Illinois Commitment program, UIUC covers tuition and campus fees for in-state students whose family income is $75,000 or less, effective Fall 2025. This initiative supports students for up to four years. 
  2. University of Illinois Chicago (UIC):Starting Fall 2025, UIC's UIC Aspire program offers free tuition and fees to Illinois residents with a family income of $75,000 or less. This program aims to alleviate financial burdens and enhance access to higher education.
  3. City Colleges of Chicago: The Chicago Star Scholarshipoffers free tuition and books to qualifying Chicago Public Schools graduates who meet specific academic criteria. This program facilitates access to higher education for local students.
  4. Olivet NazareneThe ONU ZERO Tuition is an Olivet program created as a result of the PAVER Affordability Priority to make ONU more accessible and affordable for all – covering TUITION for students who qualify.
