Rev. Jasper Paul Taylor I, M.A., M.Div
Reverend Jasper Paul Taylor I is a dynamic preacher, teacher, and visionary leader whose ministry bridges tradition and innovation, inspiring people of all generations to follow Christ with passion and purpose. A fourth-generation pastor with a rich pastoral lineage, he currently serves as the Senior Pastor of the Broadview Missionary Baptist Church in Broadview, Illinois.
A native of the south suburbs of Chicago, Pastor Taylor graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School in Flossmoor, Illinois. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. While at Olivet, he received the distinguished honor of being named the Illinois Student Lincoln Laureate, an award presented to one graduating senior from each college and university in Illinois for excellence in academic achievement and leadership.
Pastor Taylor later earned a Master of Divinity degree from Northern Theological Seminary in Lisle, Illinois, where he was the recipient of the Bryan F. Archibald Award for Outstanding Preaching. He is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.
A gifted preacher, teacher, and vocalist, Pastor Taylor is frequently invited to speak and sing at churches, conferences, conventions, and academic institutions across the country. His leadership and influence extend beyond the pulpit through active involvement in professional and community organizations. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In 2002, he was recognized as a Man of Excellence by the historic Chicago Defender newspaper. He is also a Hampton University PRIME (Pastoral Renewal Initiative for Ministerial Excellence) Fellow.
Above all his professional and ministerial accomplishments, Pastor Taylor treasures his role as father to his vibrant and energetic son, Jasper Paul Taylor II. Whether through preaching, teaching, singing, or leading, he remains committed to giving all glory to God.
