He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!"  Psalm 91:1-2

Dear Broadview Family and friends,

We continue to closely track the news of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) both locally and globally. As you’re aware, BMBC has been closed for worship service since Sunday, March 15th. While this virus continues to spread through close contact, the church has taken several precautionary measures as recommended established by the State of Illinois and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to reduce the spread of COVID-19. I encourage you and your family to follow the established prevention measures. Visit the CDC website ncov/community/home/index.html for additional information. To review the Illinois Phase 3 Recovery Plan for places of worship, please click here. Our primary objective as a church, during this COVID-19 crisis, is to make our church a safe and healthy environment as we continue to minister to the needs of our church and community. I will use the remainder of this letter to share BMBC ministry information and ways you can participate, stay informed, or volunteer to help. Information is also provided for you on how you will receive updates on COVID- 19 and our BMBC reopening plan.

While the days ahead hold unknowns, we are here to help. We all realize that the impact of COVID-19 has had a ripple effect in our lives emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally, and financially; but God is still in control. We want to help you cope with the challenges of COVID-19 that may come your way and encourage you to participate in the BMBC ministries currently available. The past and coming weeks have presented BMBC with new opportunities to bring the hope and compassion of Christ to our church members and community. Even though our sanctuary has been closed, there are still many important Broadview ministries and new church activities that are in full force. I invite you to participate in the BMBC ministries detailed below.

Help! More volunteers are needed!

BMBC CARESConnectAcknowledge… Remind… Encourage… Share…

Fellowship and communication are especially important during times like the COVID-19 crisis. The BMBC CARES initiative was designed to enable ministry leaders to connect with, encourage, inform and minister to BMBC members with whom we have not had contact with since our church facilities were closed in mid-May, due to COVID 19. The personal phone calls have been well received by each member contacted, their requests from the church were shared with ministry leaders and communicated to the church leadership.

Get connected! If you want to be informed of the various ministries electronically, you must be signed up to receive BMBC text and email messages. Does the church have your most up-to-date contact information, such as your cell number and email address? If not, please contact the church or visit the church "Staying Connected" page to provide this information for our records so that you can receive updates on BMBC affairs, events and activities.

We, the Pastor, and Finance Committee thank you for your continued support to the financial obligations of the church during this challenging time. Now, more than ever before, people need to know the love of God! While we may not be physically gathering at the building, the ministry of this church continues. Remember your gift of volunteer time and financial support is needed. Please use one of the following ways to give.

  1. Send a check via regular mail or drop it off at BMBC’s east entrance M-F from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (ring the doorbell to gain entrance).
  2. Text-to-Give - text BMBC to 73256 then follow the prompts.
  3. Online Giving: go to the church website "Giving" page.

BMBC’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is accepting donations for personal protective equipment and care items at the church, M-F from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Suggested items include masks, rubber gloves, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, disinfectant sprays, goggles, and thermometers. Financial contributions are also accepted to assist in making purchases of personal protective equipment and care items. Your donations, financial contributions, and sacrifice of time to help others are truly appreciated. Church members in need of personal protective equipment, care items, or want to help the BMBC’S CIT should contact the church by phone or email

Church Reopening Task Force—The Church Board recently appointed a Church Reopening Task Force to develop a plan to gradually and safely reopen BMBC for full in-person worship service, Bible study, and fellowship. We will provide you with updates on COVID-19 and our reopening plan for BMBC via email, the church’s website and written correspondence.

Finally, please remain prayerful for our church, community, and the world, especially for those directly impacted by COVID-19. If you have prayer requests, need protective equipment, care items, support, or want to volunteer to help, please contact BMBC at (708) 343-3700. I will continue to pray for you and look forward to worshipping with you at BMBC in the near future.

“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all!” (2 Cor. 13:14)

Blessings, comfort, and peace,

Rev. Christopher C. Robinson, Sr. Interim Pastor
