The path for the selection of our Pastor is clearly documented in our Church Constitution. The Pulpit Search Committee has followed this path since the committee’s origination. The policy for the selection of the Pastor is found under Articles III, Church Officers, Section 4-Pastor (a). To be clear to everyone, this is how we, the church, will select our next pastor.

  1. Once the final candidates are confirmed, the PSC plans to have an Evaluation Weekend for each of the finalists, starting with a Friday night “meet & greet” for the congregation to meet him and his family at the church in the Fellowship Hall. On Saturday, starting with men’s prayer, there will be a half-day agenda where he can engage with the church including our Youth/Adults. On Sunday, he will teach to all the adult Sunday School classes in the sanctuary, followed by his preaching at both the 10:30 am and 6:30 pm service.
  2. The teaching evaluation of our final candidates will be facilitated by our Christian Education Department, but the entire church’s feedback will be welcomed.
  3. The PSC committee shall bring to the consideration of the church only one candidate at a time. An election shall take place at a special meeting called for that purpose, notice of which shall be given to the membership at least seven (7) days prior to the date of the meeting pursuant to Article VII, Section 4.
  4. A vote shall be taken concerning the candidate under consideration, with an affirmative vote of three-fourths (3/4) of those members present and in good standing being necessary for A quorum of 10% of the members is required.

If the candidate does not get the required ¾ vote, we will go to another candidate.
